Mozambique
It’s official. I leave for Mozambique NEXT Sunday, February 9, with Food for the Hungry. This happened so quickly, but I am confident it is a total God-appointment. I am filled with joy and a strong sense of destiny.

Very sweet of you! I will surely need the prayers. i’ve seen poverty….Cairo’s garbage city, Lima’s worst communities, but I’ve not seen AIDS…..not sure what to expect in Mozambique. God is able to make his grace abound. Let my heart be broken by the things that break the heart of God

Thinking about you Donna . . . especially as I’m looking at our hot-off-the-printer Mozambique and Swaziland photos and hearing the exciting praise reports from my husband and son . . . who just returned. Be blessed and filled with God’s wisdom and anointing as you go. (By the way, I’m curious what you’re specifically thinking about potential or possible ministry in East Africa in 2009?)
Thanks Ann. I’m open to whatever God has in mind. I feel strongly called to South Africa this year, and also have a few good contacts in Swaziland. My daughter has been obsessed with Uganda for years and has done lots of fundraisers for Invisible Children. Even talked me into sleeping in a downtown Phoenix parking lot overnight as part of a “demonstration” What we won’t do for our kids!

I just found out you are coming to Mozambique, well, you are HERE now! I live in Mozambique, have been here for six years, working with Iris Ministries. We have a large (300+) children’s center in Zimpeto, about 30 minutes outside the capital city of Maputo. Not sure where in Mozambique you are visiting but would love to extend an offer to visit our center. Or if you have a public event somewhere around Maputo, I would love to come see what you and Food for the Hungry are doing!

I will be coming back to Mozambique for sure and would love to visit with Iris Ministries! I loved Heidi’s book, Always Enough. Very inspiring. Hopefully we can arrange to get together when I return!
