Donna’s passionate commitment to helping women makes her a naturally gifted television communicator. For example, a single appearance on James Robison’s Life Today garnered more than 4000 "hits" on her website and skyrocketed her book, Becoming the Woman I Want to Be, to CBA’s bestseller list, where it remained for 3 months, almost entirely on the strength of that broadcast alone. Aspiring Women’s co-host, Michelle McKinney Hammond, reported that Donna was the best live guest ever to appear on their Emmy-nominated show.

Donna’s very first radio appearance was on Focus on the Family with Dr. James Dobson. The program garnered one of the largest audience responses in the history of the radio program (up until that time) and instantly landed her book, Homemade Business, on CBA’s best-seller list where it remained for many months. Driven almost entirely by her radio appearances, the book sold nearly 100,000 copies.
By the end of her first appearance on Parent Talk with Randy Carlson and (former co-host) Dr. Kevin Leman, it was decided that Donna would join them in leading Family Business Seminars. Given Donna’s popularlity with conference attendees, the ministry then offered Home Business Workshops (in which Donna was the sole presenter) live in each of their key listening areas. Donna then helped Family Life Communications create the Women of Virtue conference ministry, which she toured with for three years.
