Frequently Asked Questions

The #1 Queston I receive is:  "Am I ONLY allowed to eat the food items listed each day in
Becoming The Woman I Want to Be?"

Aha!  You didn't read the introduction, did you?  Don't feel bad, apparently lots of people skipped
it.  Please go back and read "The Pathway to Becoming the Woman I Want To Be."  That's very
important, as it explains every aspect of the program.  But to answer this question: You are
allowed to eat whatever you want as long as you eat all the items I recommend.  The items
listed each day are to be added to your diet.  In other words, you are supposed to eat as many of
the recommended fruits and vegetables as you possibly can......if you still have room left over
(which of course, you shouldn't because 'as many as you possibly can' implies that you are
stuffed) then go ahead and eat whatever else you want : )

Can Donna speak at our church?
It's a definite possibility.  For more information, click here:  Speaking

I've taught Donna's studies in the past, but these days, women want to watch a video that
goes along with the book we're reading.  Does Donna have any videos?
We do not offer videos or DVDs.  Instead, we provide teachers with the material they need to
teach effectively  (including Teacher's Manuals, class handouts, PowerPoint, etc)  Please visit
    our Teachers Corner

I'm writing a book and wondering if Donna can read it and tell me what she thinks.
The ability to discern writing talent in budding authors is a special gift...one which I apparently
lack.  Fortunately, there are many others who can help you on your journey to becoming a
published author.  First, you should research the Christian publishing industry in general. There
are many books and audios available to help you learn the basics. It is especially important to
write a sensational proposal. Once you have done some homework, you should attend a
Christian Writer's Conference, where you can meet publishing industry professionals first-hand.
A little insider information: I met Steve Laube, who was then acquisitions editor for Bethany
House, at a Christian Writer's Conference.  That meeting lead to the publication of 15 out of my
16 books.  So, I know from personal experience that attending a writer's conference is the best
way to a. find out if you have any writing talent and b. get a book deal if you do!

Some of the major conferences around the country include:

    Mt. Hermon Christian Writers Conference
    Florida Christian Writers Conference
The Colorado Christian Writer's Conference, held at the beautiful YMCA lodge adjacent to the
Rocky Mountain National Park.  I've spoken at this conference before and the surroundings are
    absolutely spectacular

I really want to talk to Donna because I need her advice.  How can I get in touch with her
    personally?
Over the years, many people have contacted me for advice when facing personal crises. The fact
is, I am NOT a trained counselor nor do I have the spiritual gifts required to fulfil that role.  My
attempts at amateur counselling have never produced good results!   Instead, you are urged to
contact your local church or find a qualified Christian Counselor through The Christian Care
Network of  the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Why can't Donna personally respond to my email?
To be completely honest, this site was created in response to the overwhelming volume of
email I receive each day from readers around the world.  For more than a decade,  I have tried to
personally answer each and every letter/email I received.  In fact, you may be among the people I
routinely corresponded with in the past.  Eventually the task grew to an 8-hour a day job, leaving
little time for me to write new books, develop new talks or care for my household.  Well,
something had to give and it was usually personal grooming!!!  But seriously, I still want to keep
you informed and most importantly, I want to challenge and equip you to become a vessel God
can use.  Trying to do that on a one-to-one basis was simply unrealistic and ultimately,
ineffective.  I believe God's answer is this website.  Here I can communicate with thousands of
readers at once, encouraging and empowering more people than ever before.

This was an extremely difficult decision to make, but I hope you will understand this changing
policy and keep me in your prayers as I seek to be a more effective manager of my time and
energy and, as a result, become a more effective vessel God can use as I focus my energy on
the Kingdom work God has given me to accomplish: writing, speaking and most of all, caring for
    my family.
