Active – Your weight is a function of a very simple equation. Calories consumed – calories used = Net weight loss or gain. Don’t limit calorie burning to the 30 minutes a day you “exercise" and expect to stay healthy. Be active, not sedentary. Sit rather than stand. Walk rather than ride. Park far rather than close. Bike to the store rather than driving. Join teams and clubs. Get up

Your children will rarely have better eating habits than you, the parent. (Perhaps they’ll make better choices in adulthood, but that’s a different story) While they are under your roof, the greatest influence on your children’s eating behavior—not to mention current and future health—is most profoundly affected by the parent’s eating habits.
If you won’t eat healthy for yourself, do it for your kids.
